Tirana, Durres, and Gjirokastra Welcome Over 50 Filmmakers

“Travel Fest Albania,” the first of its kind in Albania, kicks off the second edition of its film marathon on Monday, promising an exhilarating experience for all film lovers fueled by the festival’s energetic team.

From July 3 to 7, Tirana, Durres, and Gjirokastra will warmly welcome over 50 international filmmakers and photographers, united by the universal language of film and photography.

Pandeli Çeço, the founder and director of “Travel Fest Albania,” shares, “This year, we have expanded our activities, showcasing more films, featuring more actors, and extending our geographical reach. We wanted to bring the festival to Durrës and Gjirokastër.”

The productions will revolve around the themes of nature, environment, tourism, heritage, and history—a compelling blend that bridges the past, present, and future.

Gentian Kurti, the artistic director of “Travel Fest Albania,” highlights, “The selected films will be screened in two cinemas in Tirana: the National Museum in the morning and the Lake Amphitheater in the afternoon. In Gjirokastër, the focus will be on heritage and cultural tourism, while in Durrës, films related to the sea and wildlife will take center stage.”

“Travel Fest Albania” offers a captivating and challenging experience, even for the jury members themselves. Why? According to the festival’s jury representative, it’s the exceptional quality and originality showcased by the foreign authors.
